Strata - Acts of Capture
Strata – Acts of Capture centres around the Earth’s geological time scale and history. Inspired by the fact that the Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old, its history can be read in rock strata. Rock strata are horizontal layers of sedimentary rock, which are visually distinguishable from adjacent layers due to their differing compositions. Each layer in the strata is called a stratum, which represents a period of geological time when the sedimentary layer formed. Distant memories and events are captured, and lay hidden, yet to be revealed - revelations about the Earth’s ecological history. All strata contain evidence of what happened in past millennia.
