The Womb Cave, 2024

Here I have created a Womb Cave, inspired by the Utroba Cave, located in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria that dates back to 450 BC, which has a distinctive natural shape where the entrance resembles the shape of a vulva and the inside resembles a uterus.

Everything in nature could be seen as a womb. Vegetal and mineral spaces, designed to connect humans with nature. Seeing everything in nature as a womb is a profound way of understanding the interconnectedness of life, creation, and regeneration. The concept of the womb as a metaphor for nature reflects the idea that life is nurtured, protected, and born from the natural world. The earth itself can be seen as a vast, cosmic womb, continually giving birth to life, sustaining ecosystems, and providing the conditions for growth and renewal.
